Our Skin Rejuvenation Philosophy
There’s always something new, in the medical aesthetics arena, but all of it is not necessarily better. When we evaluate new skin rejuvenation equipment, we apply a Cost – Risk – Expected Benefit model. Costs must be reasonable, treatments must be tolerable, and both equipment and products must demonstrate to us that they deliver results.
Our Rule #1 - Skin Rejuvenation Treatment Costs Must Be Reasonable
Treatment costs must align with what we deem reasonable for people not for just one treatment, but for a series. We do not perform ablative CO2 laser skin resurfacing with a minimum 7-day downtime and 3 to 4 months for all redness to fade. Our skin rejuvenation technologies are fractional skin rejuvenation technologies.
Fractional skin rejuvenation technologies create controlled injuries on a fraction of the skin. Downtime for fractional skin rejuvenation treatments is typically somewhere between zero and two days. Healing is faster, results are typically by week 2 or 3 post-treatment, and multiple treatments are typically required for full corrective results.
This is why when we evaluate a new fractional skin rejuvenation machine, treatment costs for a series must align with what we deem reasonable for people. We want the cost of a series of treatments to receive the full benefit of skin rejuvenation to be reasonable and have minimal downtime, if any at all.
Our Rule #2 - Skin Rejuvenation Treatments Must Be Tolerable
Fractional skin rejuvenation treatments are controlled injuries to the skin that leverage the body’s natural healing process to produce skin rejuvenation results. The specific technology that is used and the depth of treatment determine the general degree of discomfort or pain.
When evaluating a new fractional skin rejuvenation technology, our guideline is that topical numbing cream must be enough to minimize or often eliminate treatment discomfort.
Our Rule # 3 - Skin Rejuvenation Treatments Must Deliver Results
Regenerative Aesthetics Products Must Be Effective
New regenerative aesthetics skincare products hit the market faster than new fractional skin rejuvenation technologies. There’s always something new, but all of it is not necessarily better.
The first thing we assess is where products are made. Certified facilities are required.
Next, we analyze the ingredient list, something we encourage everyone to do, including the order of ingredients. The FDA requires ingredients on product labels to be listed in descending order of based by ingredient weight. This requirement includes the medical grade topicals that we use.
Lastly, regenerative skincare products must be effective for the conditions they claim to address. That doesn’t mean a vendor’s collection of studies. It means witnessing effectiveness, which often means small in-practice studies. Be sure to apply to be a model if you’re interested in participating in these studies.
About Our Facials
Facials are superficial skincare treatments because they only affect the top layer of the skin. They are good for effectively exfoliating to remove dead skin cells and clearing away dirt and debris. They increase blood circulation that is important to skin health. And they can temporarily hydrate and plump skin to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
These are good things; however, they don’t provide the lasting or pronounced regenerative aesthetics treatment effects.
